George Kantis, M.D., F.A.C.C. was raised in the Houston area. After graduating from Houston Baptist University, Dr. Kantis attended the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and performed clinical research at the Methodist Hospital in the department of cardiothoracic surgery. He received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at the University of Connecticut Health Center. During his post-graduate medical training at the University of Connecticut, Dr. Kantis was elected medical intern of the year and was subsequently recognized again with the ambulatory care award. Dr. Kantis is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the subspecialty of Cardiovascular Disease, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and is certified by the Board of Nuclear Cardiology (American Society of Nuclear Cardiology (ASNC)) as well as the National Board of Echocardiography (The American Society of Echocardiography).
Dr. Kantis is a non-invasive cardiologist with special interest in cardiac imaging and the treatment of congestive heart failure. Dr. Kantis has expertise in transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography, nuclear cardiology including positron emission tomography of the heart, and cardiac CT imaging. His practice philosophy is based upon communication with his patients. To facilitate this, Dr. Kantis is fluent in German, Spanish, Greek, and Italian.
