Dr. Ritesh Mathur earned his medical degree from St George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada and completed his internship, residency and fellowship in nephrology at The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston.

In practice since 2006, Dr. Mathur is board certified in nephrology and a member of the American Society of Nephrology. He sees patients 18 years and older and speaks Spanish, Hindi and Urdu. Kidney dialysis is one of his primary clinical interests, and he also treats hypertension (high blood pressure), kidney stones and kidney failure.

Building rapport is extremely important for Dr. Mathur and his patients feel like they are talking to a relative when they are in his office. He also makes patient access a high priority. He will visit area dialysis centers and hospitals and makes himself available 24/7. Any patient who needs immediate care will be seen on the same day.

A resident of Sugar Land, Dr. Mathur is married and the father of twin daughters. In his leisure time he enjoys reading, traveling, cooking, playing tennis and trying new restaurants.
