Surgery Associates of Houston is the home for the practice of surgeons, Dr. Michael Kleinman and Dr.Tammy Lee. It is the mission of Surgery Associates of Houston to not only perform routine operations, but technically complex and sophisticated operations while providing the highest level of care to their patients. Both Dr. Kleinman and Dr. Lee make every effort to perform operations using minimally invasive techniques-- robotic, laparoscopic, and micro-laparoscopic. The surgeons of the association strive to stay at the forefront of surgical and medical science and technology. Dr. Michael H. Kleinman has been practicing since 1988, and founded Surgery Associates of Houston in 2001. Dr. Lee has been in practice since 2009, and joined Surgery Associates of Houston in 2011. Both Dr. Kleinman and Dr. Lee perform major abdominal surgery, breast surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery, colorectal surgery, robotic surgery, hepato-biliary surgery (surgery of galbladder, liver, and bile ducts), surgery of the pancreas, surgery for gastroesophageal reflux, and surgery of the stomach and esophagus. Operations are performed for both benign and malignant disease. The doctors work closely with medical oncologists and radiotherapists in the treatment of most types of visceral cancers. The office staff of Surgery Associates is likewise skilled and driven towards making your patient experience as smooth and pleasant as possible. The surgeons and staff of Surgery Associates of Houston *Most surgeries are performed using laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques. The following includes examples of diseases treated and procedures performed by the physicians at Surgery Associates of Houston: Laparascopic surgery, including gallbladder surgery, hiatal hernia repair, colon resection, and diagnostic laparascopy. Robotic-assisted laparascopic gallbladder surgery. Intestinal diseases, including obstructions, tumors, polyps, diverticulitis, diverticulosis, and bleeding. Diseases of the Breast Gastroesophageal Reflux (GERD) Peptic Ulcer Disease Gallbladder Disease and Surgery Surgery of the liver and bile ducts Hernias (usually on an outpatient basis) Pancreatic Tumors Anal and Rectal diseases, including hemorrhoids, fissures, and fistulas. *Office or outpatient procedures are performed whenever possible.
